The Development of Botanical Latin
Textual Emendations, New Philology, and Authenticity
Erin's background as a professional gardener, her work in academic libraries, and her degree in Rare Books & Manuscripts, all inform her current research.
Erin's dissertation concerns the development of Botanical Latin in the early 16th century and its connection to the printing history of Pliny's Historia Naturalis. Erin is also interested in the history of logic and notions of truth, and she is currently working on a project involving textual emendation and New Philology.
She also sometimes runs ultramarathons.
