Classics Undergraduate Conference Fund
The Department of Classics and the Department of Classics & Ancient Studies are pleased to announce the establishment of the Classics Undergraduate Conference Fund. The fund will provide modest support for research-related conference participation and travel. Approximately $2,000 is available annually, which may be divided among multiple recipients.
ELIGIBILITY
Funding is open to all juniors and seniors majoring in Classics/Ancient Studies in either Department (CC, BC, GS). A student may be awarded this funding only once during their undergraduate career.
HOW TO APPLY
Students must receive written approval from the DUS in Classics before applying to the conference in order to be considered for funding. Conference acceptance is required before applying for funding. To apply, please submit a proposal including a brief, one-page description of your planned visit or conference participation, including a timeline, a copy of your paper abstract and proof of conference acceptance.
Email the proposal to the Director of Undergraduate Studies.
Following the conference, students must submit:
A copy of the Conference Program
A one-page (double-spaced, 12pt font) post-conference reflection. Describe the panels and talks you attended, the feedback or questions you received on your presentation, and how the experience broadened your perspective on your own research and on participating in the broader scholarly community in Classics/Ancient Studies beyond Columbia/Barnard.
Itemized conference-related receipts with descriptions for reimbursement. These receipts must be submitted for reimbursement no later than two weeks following the conference travel dates.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis while funds are available.
COLUMBIA COLLEGE TRAVEL AWARD FOR PRESENTERS
Students selected to present at academic conferences may apply for funding, which can be used to cover conference fees and travel expenses.
