Sex and History: Kristina Milnor (Fellow 2004, Ancient Studies), Barnard College, and Sarah Levin-Richardson (Fellow 2015, Ancient Studies), University of Washington, discuss how their queer identities have shaped their research on the ancient history of sex. Kristina Milnor is the author of Gender, Domesticity, and the Age of Augustus (Oxford, 2005) and Graffiti and the Literary Landscape in Roman Pompeii (Oxford, 2014). Sarah Levin-Richardson is the author of The Brothel of Pompeii: Sex, Class and Gender at the Margins of Roman Society (Cambridge, 2019).
